The path
The path from reactive to professional
Five stages that take you from knowing the rules to trading inside them. Free, in your own time, and yours to keep.
Most traders don't have a knowledge problem. They know their rules. They could recite them. Then a normal loss closes, and the rules turn into suggestions.
This path is for that trader. It won't give you a strategy or a market view. It takes you through what professional desks figured out long ago: discipline is something you build into the setup, not something you summon in the moment.
Stage 1. See the pattern
Start by admitting the gap between what you know and what you do. It's common, it isn't a character flaw, and it follows a pattern you can name.

Do: Take the Discipline Self-Check
Stage 2. Count what it costs
A broken rule feels small while it's happening. Put a number on it, and on the two costs that never show up on a statement.

Do: Run the Cost of the Reflex calculator on your own trades
Stage 3. Understand why trying harder fails
The person who writes your rules and the person who has to follow them aren't in the same state. Once you see that, you can stop blaming yourself and start changing the setup.

Stage 4. Decide once
Write the decisions down while you're calm, in a form that holds when you aren't. This is the stage where you become the risk manager of your own account.
Read: Decide once
Do: Write your Trading Mandate
Stage 5. Trade inside the structure
Run your sessions with limits, a routine and a weekly review. Then judge yourself on process, because process is the part you control.

Do: Set up a routine for calm trading and grade your next 100 trades
What you'll have at the end
- A clear picture of your own pattern, in your own data
- A number for what that pattern has cost you
- A written mandate covering loss, size, trade count and hours
- If-then rules for the moments that usually go wrong
- A daily routine and a weekly review
What the path can't promise
It can't promise profits, and neither can anyone else. Markets will still take losing trades from you. Finishing these stages doesn't make you a winning trader, and fear won't vanish because you've written a document.
What changes is your position when the hard moment comes. Your maximum loss for the day is a number you chose. The next step is already decided. You're working from a plan, not reacting to a screen.
